A.J. Houghton Vienna Brewery is built.

Operated by Andrew Houghton, it is located on the site of the former Christian Jutz Brewery at the corner of Station Street and Halleck Street at 37 Station Street (133 Halleck Street). The brewery specializes in “Vienna” and “Pavonia” lager beer. The complex includes a five-story main brewing building with a large cupola that is later declared a landmark by the Boston Landmarks Commission. The brewery continues in business until 1918.
